Verlan Consulting is made up of fire protection engineers and mechanical engineers with over 70 years of combined experience in property loss control.  In the paint and coatings industry, Verlan engineers are recognized as the undisputed leaders in understanding and evaluating property loss control hazards.  We understand the unique risks that flammable and combustible material poses, as we hold a leadership position in the National Paint and Coatings Association (NPCA) through its Occupational Safety and Health Technical Committee.  

Our engineers are also leaders in the code writing community, with leadership positions on the NFPA 30, 30B and 35 technical committees. 

This website is designed for plant managers, loss control managers and other employees of companies involved in the handling, storage and/or manufacturing of chemical products such as paints and coatings.  

It is not our intent to provide all information and training necessary to develop a properly engineered loss control program on this website.  We recommend that any such program be developed under the direct supervision of a qualified engineer.  Rather, we want to provide general information and guidance so that the appropriate stakeholders may better understand their risk and exposure as they work towards controlling it.
